UPDATE: As reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojanrowski, the Clippers have agreed to sign Luc Mbah a Moute to a one-year deal.

Since his first career contract ended with the Milwaukee Bucks, Luc Mbah a Moute has bounced around to five teams over five years. While the Houston Rockets may bring him back after losing Trevor Ariza, the Pistons should call to gauge his interest. He would be an instant upgrade to their defense, and he could give them some scary lineup possibilities.

Although his career average is only 33.6 percent from 3-point range, his last two seasons have shown progress on that front. He has great athleticism, but he is pretty limited at creating his own shots. Playing off of passers like Jackson, Griffin and even Ish Smith will be a boon for him. Mbah a Moute is a great small-ball stretch-4, but he can also play the small forward spot effectively.

He could be a bit pricey for a team with limited cap space, and he’s more of a dream signing than a realistic one. Mbah a Moute would give the team a 3-and-D wing who can also play the power forward spot. If the Pistons were able to get him using some or all of their MLE, they could do much worse than a player like him.
