The pros and cons of DeMarcus Cousins joining the Golden State Warriors

In a move that shocked the NBA, DeMarcus Cousins has agreed to sign with the Golden State Warriors. Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of his decision.
The Golden State Warriors have cemented themselves as the best team in the NBA. They’ve won three of the last four NBA titles in convincing fashion. With a starting lineup last season that featured four All-Stars and future Hall-of-Famers, the argument can be made that the Warriors have an unfair advantage over the rest of the league.
It doesn’t appear that the Dubs are letting go of their advantage anytime soon. In a move that sent shockwaves throughout the NBA, DeMarcus Cousins has agreed to take his talents to the Bay Area. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Boogie has agreed to a one-year, $5.3 million deal with the two-time defending champions.
Before suffering from a torn Achilles in January, Cousins was expected to receive max offers from teams throughout the league. However, once free agency began July 1, it was reported by Marc Spears of ESPN that he received no offers from teams interested in his services.
Whether teams were concerned about his recovery from injury or were wary of his reputation as a disturbance in the locker room doesn’t matter at this point. The lack of interest allowed Golden State to acquire another superstar player in free agency to add to their already loaded roster.
Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of DeMarcus Cousins joining the Golden State Warriors, for Boogie, the Dubs and the league as a whole.
