The Oklahoma City Thunder came up short in the 2018 postseason, but they’ve reloaded for next season, coming to a verbal agreement with Nerlens Noel.

Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder don’t seem to be having a hard time finding talent to fill the void left by Kevin Durant. Paul George and the Thunder front office have agreed to a four-year, $137 million max contract, but that wasn’t the only deal the Thunder made.

The Thunder also made a move in snagging big man Nerlens Noel, agreeing to a two-year deal with a player option on Year 2, according to Yahoo! Sports‘ Shams Charania. Oklahoma City will be Noel’s third team as he enters his fifth season in the NBA. He played last season for the Dallas Mavericks, but things couldn’t have gone worse for him.

Before the Mavericks, Noel looked to be on his way to finding a role in the league with the Philadelphia 76ers. He was traded prior to the NBA Trade Deadline back in February 2017 for Andrew Bogut, Justin Anderson and a 2017 second round draft pick.

It seems Noel is ready to take another gamble on himself for the 2018-19 season. This time around, he gets to choose his destination, which should pay dividends for him in this scenario.
