It is being reported that the Minnesota Timberwolves and Anthony Tolliver have agreed to a one-year deal. Here are three reasons why this is a good move.

The Minnesota Timberwolves won 47 games last season and ended a 13-year playoff drought in the process. What is equally impressive is the fact they managed to do so despite Jimmy Butler missing 17 of the team’s final 20 games of the season due to a meniscus injury.

In their first postseason appearance since 2004, the Timberwolves were matched up against the top-seeded Houston Rockets in the first round of the 2018 NBA Playoffs. You know, that Rockets team that set an NBA record for most 3-pointers made in each of the last two seasons.

Unfortunately for the Timberwolves, the series was over fairly quickly. After falling behind 0-2, the Timberwolves did produce an impressive 121-105 win in Game 3. However, the Rockets took the next two outings, eliminating Minnesota in five games.

Going into the offseason, one of the areas where the Timberwolves need a little help was depth at the power forward spot. According to Yahoo! Sports’ Shams Charania, Minnesota reached an agreement with 10-year veteran Anthony Tolliver on a one-year deal worth $5.8 million.

Here’s a look at three reasons this was a good move for the Wolves.
