1. The Pacers need another scorer
Indiana relied entirely too much on Oladipo to generate offense last season. He was up to the task and made a valiant effort in the playoffs, but the Pacers need more scoring options if the team plans to pose a serious threat to Eastern Conference favorites like the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers.
If nothing else, Evans is and always has been a scorer.
For his career, Evans averages 16.5 points per game. Before last season, he was never known as a 3-point shooter, but with the Grizzlies he knocked down a career-best 39.9 percent of his triples while attempting a career-high 286 of them.
Evans is one of the best one-on-one isolation players in the league, a slick ball-handler and master of the Euro-step who has an affinity for layups and finger rolls.
The Pacers’ biggest need this offseason was to upgrade the backcourt and find players who can create offensive opportunities.

Outside of the big-name stars, Evans was arguably the best available man on the market to fit that job description.
