1. Fit alongside Kristaps Porzingis

This may not be something that comes into play this season as Kristaps Porzingis is recovering from ACL surgery. However, in the long-run, Knox is a perfect complement to play alongside Porzingis.

If the Knicks are going to use Porzingis more at center upon his return, Knox is a great fit at power forward. Given his offensive skill-set, the two would play well off of each other. Knox performs well without the ball in his hands and is a good enough floor-spacer that Porzingis can operate in the middle of the court.

Defensively, Porzingis’ best asset is as a rim protector. If he is playing center more, he will be able to showcase that ability more often. Knox gives the Knicks a player capable of playing power forward next to him. His impact could be similar to what Michael Beasley brought to the table last season alongside Porzingis, except Knox has a higher ceiling defensively.

If David Fizdale wants to use Porzingis at power forward, Knox is more than capable of sliding up to the 3 and playing small forward. Enes Kanter, Joakim Noah and Mitchell Robinson would all bring something to the table that Porzingis and Knox could easily play off of.

All of the moves that the Knicks make this offseason and going forward should have an eye toward how it fits with Porzingis.

As long as the Zinger is looked at as the franchise cornerstone, filling out the roster to fit alongside him is imperative. Kevin Knox is a player that fits perfectly alongside Porzingis given his versatility on both ends of the court.
