With 2018 NBA free agency already upon us, here are five potential trades for All-Star Kemba Walker of the Charlotte Hornets.

Lost amidst the craziness surrounding the likes of LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are some legitimate stars players who have been overlooked in all the noise.

One of those is Kemba Walker, the two-time All-Star point guard of the Charlotte Hornets. At 28 years old and coming off consecutive All-Star appearances, it would seem on the surface that Walker represents an integral piece for the Hornets moving forward. However, the past six months have seen no shortage of news regarding Walker’s future.

In January, Hornets’ owner Michael Jordan responded to Walker trade rumors with the following comments:

"“I’m not looking to trade Kemba, but I would listen to opportunities….It’s not like we are shopping him. We would not just give him up. I love Kemba Walker. I would not trade him for anything but an All-Star player.”"

With one year and just $12 million remaining on his current deal, Walker represents a genuine bargain to prospective teams. However, teams may be hesitant to offer up the whole farm for a player who could wind up being a one-year rental.

Meanwhile, the conundrum facing the Hornets is whether they wish to offer Walker a max contract next offseason. On the other side of the coin, a trade could deliver them a younger player who has the ability to develop over the coming years on a much lower annual salary.

So with a pivotal decision approaching on the part of the Charlotte Hornets, here are five potential trade destinations for Walker this summer.
