Derrick Rose has reportedly agreed to a one-year, $2.1 million deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Here are three reasons why that was a good move.

Per Yahoo! Sports‘ Shams Charania, the Minnesota Timberwolves will sign free agent guard Derrick Rose to a one-year, $2.1 million deal. Despite what many fans might think, this was a good move for the Timberwolves.

After originally signing with the Wolves in March for the remainder of the 2017-18 season, Derrick Rose only played in nine regular season games and averaged 5.8 points, 1.2 assists and 0.7 rebounds per game. Those obviously are not very impressive numbers, but they came in an extremely limited role. During those nine games, Rose played a mere 12.4 minutes per game.

That wasn’t nearly enough time to show what he was capable of, but in the 2018 NBA Playoffs, Tose showed the NBA and its fans what he still has left in the tank after an injury-plagued career.

The former MVP (youngest in league history) made a real splash in the playoffs, helping the Wolves win a game against the Houston Rockets.

Here are three reasons why re-signing Derrick Rose was a good move.
