1. Offensive versatility

Not only can Casspi shoot the basketball, but at 6’9″, the Grizzlies can rotate him between both forward spots without hesitation. It’s that versatility as a small-ball power forward is where his value truly lies.

With the game becoming more outside in, having a lights-out shooter spacing the court next to a guy like Marc Gasol will make Memphis’s offense much smoother.

The Grizzlies will truly be able to have a modern NBA offense, and the game will be made easier for their franchise big man, allowing more room for him to operate out of the post and the elbow.

Casspi doesn’t even have to shoot the ball to make his presence felt, with his reputation having the biggest effect on the court.

Memphis has been lagging behind when it comes to crafting a roster around today’s pace and space style of play. With height and a shooting touch from deep, Casspi helps in that department, and provides it from a crucial position that affects so much of what teams can do on the offensive end.
