1. Biggest weakness is covered

When you are as dominant as the Warriors have been in recent seasons, it is difficult to find any weaknesses. They move the ball beautifully offensively, leading the NBA in assists in four consecutive seasons. Golden State knocks down 3-pointers efficiently. Annually, they have one of the best defensive teams in the NBA.

These aren’t drastic weaknesses, but some areas Golden State could improve upon are in rebounding and rim protection. Their switching defense also isn’t as effective with a lumbering player such as Zaza Pachulia at center. However, with Cousins now in the fold, those worries all disappear.

Cousins is an outstanding rebounder, averaging 11.0 per game in his career. He has done even better with the Pelicans, averaging 12.7 per game in New Orleans. Cousins is one of the best rebounders in the NBA, shoring up the biggest weakness the Warriors had.

No one knows how Cousins will look coming off the Achilles surgery, but even if he loses some athleticism, he will be more athletic than Pachulia was. Center was the weakest spot on the Warriors during these recent years, but Cousins more than shores it up even if they aren’t getting the All-NBA version.

Kevin Durant has shown he is a capable rim protector, but with another rim protection option, Kerr can now unleash KD more on the perimeter. Having Cousins as the last line of defense makes everyone else’s job easier. As if it wasn’t hard enough to score on the Warriors already, now Kerr can have Thompson, Green and Durant hounding opponents on the perimeter with Cousins behind them.

With Boogie now on the roster, the Warriors have no glaring weakness other than turnovers. Rebounding was the only area they were average in, but with Cousins manning the middle, they can easily become one of the better rebounding teams in the league.
