3. Jokic is an underrated scorer

Known more for his passing ability, Jokic has become an underrated scorer in his short stint in the NBA. His 18.5 points per game were achieved on a shooting line of .499/.396/.850. That’s incredible all-around efficiency from the Serbian big man.

The Joker doesn’t wow anyone with his speed or athleticism. He’s just very patient and methodical with every move, never in a rush but always aggressive — similar to the style that made Paul Pierce a future Hall-of-Famer.

His 3-point shot really opens up the entire floor, with a great shot-fake that allows him to lumber past his defender.

It’s obviously great for a team’s go-to guy to have a multi-faceted game, but if he wants to be the true leader of the franchise, he has to be able to score a bucket when necessary.

Jokic continues to wow us with his passing gift, but his scoring ability shouldn’t be taken for granted. It’s one that Denver can turn to in the closing minutes of a tight game in order to bring home the W, which is a staple for all the greats in league history.
