Not long after the clock struck midnight to open up 2018 NBA free agency, the Brooklyn Nets agreed to re-sign Joe Harris. Here are three reasons why it’s a good move.

Joey Buckets will be back in Brooklyn. Soon after the calendar turned to July 1, Joe Harris and the Brooklyn Nets agreed on a two-year, $16 million deal to re-sign him, per ESPN‘s Adrian Wojnarowski.

This is the pinnacle of several years of bench-warming and roster-crunching. Harris never caught on with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but flourished with opportunity in Brooklyn.

This is also great for the Nets, because they keep a valuable shooter in their rotation. I wrote about Harris’s value to the team before free agency started, and those facts will continue to hold true through Harris’s deal.

Harris has finally found an NBA home, and hopefully he can stay here for the foreseeable future. At the ripe age of 26, he has quite a few years to go, especially with his skill-set.

Without further ado, here are three reasons why re-signing Harris is a good move by Sean Marks.
