Weaknesses

In spite of making tremendous strides throughout his first season in the NBA, there were several moments where Bogdanovic left many Kings faithful searching for more during the 2017-18 regular season.

The veteran rookie — who led Sacramento in total minutes played last season — would often play passively throughout the later portion of contests. He’d go through prolonged stretches in which he failed to take a single shot on the floor, passing up clean looks in the effort to try and help the Kings create ball movement.

Bogdanovic, who played nearly 28 minutes per contest, only took an average of 9.9 shots per game. Despite ranking third among all Sacramento players in 3-point field goal percentage last season, his unwillingness to take advantage of select matchups typically led to wasted possessions or turnovers such as these:

Although nobody will seek to knock the 2016 Olympic silver medalist for playing an unselfish brand of basketball, Bogdanovic’s average attempts per game will not cut it should he remain in the Kings starting lineup. His ability to score from anywhere on the floor makes him a legitimate threat against opposing defenses at any given time.

Should he seek to play more aggressively and in attack mode throughout the course of 48 minutes, then Bogdanovic could be well on his way towards developing into a star player.
