1. Build chemistry

Last season the Oklahoma City Thunder were the best team in the NBA. Then the next night, they would not beat their G League affiliate. This had a lot to do with  the chemistry of the team. The start of the season was tough to watch.

The Big 3 was out of sync, getting in each other’s way, which allowed opposing defenses to close out, pressuring and changing shots. However, when they were locked in, the Oklahoma City Thunder were unbeatable. The first game the Thunder played against the Golden State Warriors on the season showed just how well the team could play.

Defensively, the Thunder were hit or miss at times. They went on a run over the Christmas and New Year period where they played basketball that had them looking like contenders. However, after Andre Roberson went down. the defensive end of the court looked quite disjointed at times.

There is still hope for the Thunder franchise. Anthony was traded for late in the offseason and the team learned about each other in the heat of battle. If George re-signs and the Big 3 have a summer working out together, they will begin to have a greater understanding of each other.

One thing is for sure, this is going to be an offseason where the Thunder can either grow, regress or even move toward a possible rebuild. Only time will tell.
