Despite of falling short in his efforts to help guide the Detroit Pistons back to the playoffs, Blake Griffin managed to make quite an impact on his new club from the moment in which he arrived, averaging 19.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 6.2 assists in his first 25 games with the franchise.

On an evening that marked just two weeks before the official trade deadline, the Detroit Pistons managed to make one of the most boldest moves in franchise history by acquiring Blake Griffin in a deal that no one expected.

The five-time All-Star, who averaged 21.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game through 58 contests last season, was dealt to the Motor City from the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley, Boban Marjanovic and a first round pick in the 2018 NBA Draft on Jan. 30.

After a trade that came nearly seven months after Griffin signed a five-year, $173 million contract to remain in Tinseltown during the offseason, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft found himself in a different scenery for the first time ever in his professional career, playing alongside fellow All-Star center Andre Drummond in the frontcourt.

Did the high-flying power forward show that he has what it takes to adjust and thrive in his new setting? Here’s an in-depth look at Griffin’s 2017-18 campaign with Detroit.
