5. Chicago Bulls

After the Los Angeles Lakers, the team with the most money to spend in free agency this summer is the Chicago Bulls. However, none of the top free agents — LeBron James, Paul George, Chris Paul, etc. — are going to sign with Chicago while the team is in a rebuilding phase.

That sounds like an open door for some B-level players to squeeze A-level money out of the situation.

The Bulls were reportedly interested in Favors before the 2018 trade deadline even though their top scorer, Lauri Markkanen, plays the same position. But Markkanen and Favors have different skill-sets, so in theory they can share the court with Favors playing more of a center role inside and Markkanen as a stretch-4 outside.

Favors is the kind of veteran who can help a rebuilding franchise. He has some playoff experience and knowledge from his eight years in the league to pass along, but he’s still young enough to grow with the team.
