1. Davis Bertans

As a quintessential stretch-big man, Bertans seems to have a weaker market than expected. This could be due to the quantity of big men in general, although one with a shooting stroke as fluid as Bertans’s should still be coveted around the league.

Luckily for Brooklyn, only a few teams have shown interest so far. His market is pretty robust for a shooter, so the Nets could coerce him for less than the $8.5 million mid-level exception (though it’s worth noting the San Antonio Spurs could match if they so choose, since Bertans is a restricted free agent).

A career 38.4 percent 3-point marksman on 3.0 attempts per game in both his years in the NBA, Bertans played a quality role for the San Antonio Spurs. He also shot a combined 81.9 percent from the free throw line, which exhibits his consistency as a shooter.

As a stretch-big, Bertans can play alongside either Jarrett Allen or Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. Those two incumbent Nets can cover for his defensive shortcomings — vertically in the former’s case, and horizontally in the latter’s case.

Bertans would get plenty of looks with the Nets. With a cost-controlled addition like him, the Nets might actually be able to deploy a 5-out lineup of reliable shooters. The quartet of Allen Crabbe, Joe Harris (should Brooklyn retain him), DeMarre Carroll and Bertans can give Kenny Atkinson a lot to play with.
