1. Boston Beater
LeBron James dominates a basketball court. His presence can turn the momentum of the competition, sometimes from the sheer force of his will. That impact is showing no signs of diminishing anytime soon.
As a matter of fact, LeBron’s performance in the 2018 NBA Playoffs appeared more energetic than at any other time in his career. One team he has mastered in recent years? The Boston Celtics. Right now, the one team standing in the way of the Philadelphia 76ers is the Boston Celtics.
Connecting the dots shouldn’t be too difficult here.
The NBA’s most heated rivalries have cooled somewhat in recent years, but among the most heated and passionate rivalries in NBA history is that of the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers. Now, with both teams competing in the playoffs once more, the stage is set for a Renaissance.
The consensus of NBA media is that Boston will eventually win another championship in the next 3-5 years. The only team standing in their way in the East is the Philadelphia 76ers. For both teams, and the NBA in general, that’s a good thing. Rivalries drive emotions. Emotions mobilize fans, and fans buy tickets, merchandise and gobble up news. So it’s not a far cry to project a renewed Celtics-Sixers future as good for both teams, and the NBA in general.
