3. LeBron fits Philly’s scheme

One detractor from a more general consensus of LeBron James to the Philadelphia 76ers is a perception that he will arrive and dominate the team’s coaches and players. To be fair, I don’t believe that to be the case at all.

In the end, LeBron is a very passionate player who will not remain silent. The team’s roster was blown up and rebuilt several times last season, and the results after each revision did not meet an NBA championship plateau.

That is not the case in Philadelphia. The Sixers have multiple young stars with huge upside — center Joel Embiid, power forward Dario Saric, small forward Robert Covington, shooting guard Markelle Fultz, and point guard Ben Simmons, for starters. Plus, the team has plenty of firepower in terms of draft picks, young talent stashed overseas, and a bevy of young players whose potential has yet to be tapped.

This is no longer a team in need of a veteran’s vision. This team is playoff-tested now. The kid gloves are off, and the Sixers know, firsthand and to each player, what they must do to reach the top. They simply need that example on the basketball court to provide the true meaning of competitor. LeBron James delivers that competitive spirit.
