3. Derrick Rose

I understand all of the people that say Derrick Rose is washed up, but let’s not get too crazy. At times during the playoffs last season, D-Rose was the best player on the Wolves’ roster, and at times, it wasn’t even close.

Rose had a rough 2017-18 season after starting out with the Cavs, then being traded (and waived) by the Jazz before finally signing with the Timberwolves to reunite with his old buddies Jimmy Butler, Taj Gibson and Tom Thibodeau.

His start in Minnesota was a little rocky, too. He only played in nine regular season games and averaged 12.4 minutes per game. However, once the playoffs started, we got a glimpse of what Derrick Rose is still capable of.

I know the Wolves want to give more minutes to the young, up-and-coming Tyus Jones. I get that, and I think it’s a good idea. But Rose is a guy they need back, especially if Jamal Crawford leaves (which is expected).

If Crawford leaves and the Wolves don’t re-sign Derrick Rose, they’ll lose every ounce of shot creation they had on the bench.

To me, this isn’t a maybe. The Wolves have to go get him.
