3. Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers present arguably the best option for LeBron James for now and in the future when it comes to business on the court.

Coming off a 52-win season and a berth in the conference semis, the duo of Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid are two of the brightest stars in the league, and they’re here to make their mark as early as next year.

Similar to his fit with the Rockets, playing next to Ben Simmons would prove difficult for James, as the LSU product is best with the ball in his hands and refuses to shoot the basketball outside the restricted area.

However, it’s been reported that James is looking to play off the ball more in the future, which would then make Simmons an ideal running mate along with the inside presence of Embiid.

The real kicker is what going to Philly would do for LeBron’s future, because he is human, so he will age, and whenever he starts to decline, he can feel comfortable passing the torch to Simmons and Embiid, making them the leaders of the team.

The 76ers would need to clear up a little bit more cap room in order to get to the $35 million that’s required from all potential LeBron suitors, but that could be as simple as attaching a sweetener to the remaining $8.5 million on Jerryd Bayless‘s expiring deal.
