1. Winner

If there is one word that encapsulates the Los Angeles Lakers, it’s winning.

It’s been a dismal few seasons for the Lakers, as they’ve failed to reach the postseason for five years running. With all the losing that’s been occurring in Laker Land lately, it’s easy to forget that they’ve won five championships in the past two decades. Their most recent title came in 2009-10, which in NBA terms, isn’t that far off.

The Lakers are the second-winningest franchise in NBA history and have 16 championships to their name, one less than the Boston Celtics. They are used to a winning culture.

With the selection of Wagner with the No. 25 pick, the Lakers chose a winner.

Moe helped his professional team in Germany, Alba Berlin’s second team, win a championship when he was only 16 years old. He helped guide the Michigan Wolverines to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances, including a spot in the title game his last year there. He was an Academic All-Big Ten nominee, which shows his dedication to his studies.

Wagner is determined to win at all costs, as are the Los Angeles Lakers. His winning attitude is the main reason the Lakers made the right choice in drafting Moritz Wagner.
