5. Size

Wagner only averaged 4.5 rebounds and 0.4 blocks per game in his three years in college, but he does stand 6’11” and can still put on some muscle. With an experienced coaching staff, he will learn to better use his size to his advantage.

Wagner’s rebounding has improved tremendously since his freshman year where he averaged only 1.6 rebounds per game. He ended his junior season averaging 7.1 rebounds, including 1.5 offensive rebounds per game.

The Lakers have several guards and wings, but their frontcourt is pretty desolate. With the uncertainty of Julius Randle‘s future and Brook Lopez becoming an unrestricted free agent, Wagner could find himself getting steady minutes at the power forward and center positions.

While Wagner won’t serve as a classic rim protector, his size could still be used to clog up the paint and make it more difficult for opposing guards to drive through the lane. Moe will have the Lakers training staff assisting him in adding more muscle to his frame.
