The Golden State Warriors selected Jacob Evans with the 28th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. Here are five reasons he was a good pick for the defending champions.

The Golden State Warriors were in the position most every champion finds itself in heading into the NBA Draft. If they still have the rights to their first round pick, it’s one landing at the very end of the round. Rather than dictate the draft, the Warriors had to let the draft come to them.

The silver lining was that the makeup of the 2018 NBA Draft seemed to set itself up well for every contender holding a first round pick. Talented wing players filled the middle of the class, and it was expected that Golden State would have the chance to add a player who could contribute early on.
