Detroit Pistons: Top 10 moments from 2017-18 NBA season
1. The debut of B.G.
On Feb. 1 after the blockbuster deal, then came the debut of one Blake Austin Griffin. Griffin was traded to Detroit from the Clippers in a deal that not only shocked the NBA, but also Blake Griffin. After being lauded as a “Clipper for life, ” it was time for a new chapter to begin in the Motor City.
Against the Grizzlies in front of a packed house at the Little Caesars Arena, Griffin did not disappoint the fans in attendance. He scored 24 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out five dimes in his Pistons debut, a 104-102 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. The impact from adding Griffin to the roster was immediately felt.
The Pistons have built championships centered around star power and guys who play with an undervalued edge. There was “Mr. Big Shot,” Chauncey Billups, the slasher–Rip Hamilton, Isiah Thomas, Bill Laimbeer, Joe Dumars and many more. With Griffin on the roster for at least the next four seasons, fans should have plenty to cheer about as he plays off Andre Drummond as an efficient playmaker.

The debut of a five-time All-Star, a four-time All-NBA selection and a former Rookie of the Year is the true shining moment of this 2017-18 NBA season, but the future for the Detroit Pistons should be filled with lots more as time goes on.
