2. Andre Drummond goes full beast mode

Throughout the six-year career of Andre Drummond, his skill-set has grown from year-to-year and he has become a household name in the NBA. A two-time rebounding champion and two-time All-Star, Drummond’s game has blossomed into superstar status level. A big man who relies on life in the paint in a small-ball era that can still be effective is hard to come by, but Drummond continues to answer the call.

He did so time and time again, leading his teammate by doing the dirty work. He racked up 62 double-doubles on the season while also leading his team in scoring on 14 occasions. Of the 78 games Drummond played, he had 52 games with 15-plus rebounds and in 72 of the 78 games, he had at least 10 rebounds.

In his best game of the season, he put up a staggering 30 points, 24 rebounds, six blocks, four assists and three steals.

With milestones of 6,000 points, 6,000 rebounds, 700 blocks and 500 assists in 2017-18, Drummond continues to impress and is now entering the prime of his career. With the consistent numbers he’s putting up, he should be a Piston for the foreseeable future. With help from Griffin, Jackson and the Pistons’ remaining young core, he can continue to be the beast and anchor he’s always been meant to be.

With three years remaining on his contract, it’s imminent that the Pistons surround Drummond with key components for a chance to contend in the postseason, but if the same song-and-dance continues, the talented center could be in for a big payday when he hits the market. It’s time for the Pistons to win now, but for the sake of keeping a perennial talent like Drummond, their future will depend on it.
