Strengths

Patrick Patterson’s biggest strength is his ability to shoot 3-pointers at the power forward spot. He was not able to do that in abundance, but when he got the chance he shot efficiently.

Patterson shot 38.6 percent from 3 and he shot 87 percent from the free throw line. His effective field goal percentage was 52 percent.

The Thunder needed a stretch-4 type of player to spread the floor and help open up lanes for Russell Westbrook to drive to the hole more efficiently. When Westbrook or other players could not penetrate to the hole, he would be there for them to kick it out to.

Patrick Patterson was there as a secondary pass option and a spot-up shooter. He was a player that could turn a good shot into a better shot. Also, he put pressure on the defense when the Thunder’s star players penetrated.

He shot the corner 3 at 39 percent, which is what he was there to do. While he didn’t do it enough, when he got his chances, he was able to shoot the ball effectively.
