Los Angeles Clippers: 5 reasons Jerome Robinson was a good pick
4. Knockdown shooter
Teams today put a premium on elite shooters that are able to draw defenses to whichever spot on the court they’re operating at any given moment.
In three years at Boston College, Robinson shot 37.6 percent from 3-point land on 4.7 attempts a game. During conference play, Robinson increased his 3-point attempt rate each year while at the same time boasting a rise in his true shooting percentage, an indicator than an uptick in volume didn’t hamper his efficiency.
Keep in mind, his shots weren’t simply of the spot-up and wait-for-the-ball variety. Robinson was constantly in motion, hunting that little crevice of daylight needed to get a shot up after coming off a screen.
Moving forward in his NBA career, Robinson should evolve into one of the league’s better shooters, capable of drawing multiple defenders with him for fear they may give up a momentum-swinging bucket from beyond the arc.
