3. Versatile, dynamic offensive game

His athletic makeup is impressive, but Chandler Hutchison’s offensive game is his most notable attribute. Hutchison averaged 25.8 points per 40 minutes last year, shooting 47.5 percent from the field and 35.9 percent from 3-point range.

Hutchison had some big nights on campus last year, including a career-high 44 points in a win over conference foe San Diego State. He also pulled off two 30-point nights, dropping 32 points in a road win against UNLV and 39 points in that NIT loss to Washington.

Hutchison is adept at scoring in a number of ways. According to Synergy Sports, he was above average in all key offensive play types. Among NCAA Division I players, he finished in the 69th percentile for spot-up opportunities, the 64th percentile for transition plays, the 59th percentile for pick-and-roll plays and the 71st percentile for isolation plays.

That type of scoring is sorely needed in Chicago. The Bulls averaged 102.9 points per game, fifth-fewest in the league. They did it on 43.5 percent shooting from the field, worst in the league. Chicago also shot 35.5 percent from 3-point range, 10th-worst in the NBA, despite putting up the sixth-most attempts in the league. Adding Chandler Hutchison to the fold will certainly help improve those numbers.
