The Oklahoma City Thunder picked Kevin Hervey with the 57th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. Here’s why he could be the steal of the draft.

The Oklahoma City Thunder did not have a first round pick coming into the 2018 NBA Draft. They were still able to have a relatively good draft when you consider the talent of the players they picked and where the players were picked.

The OKC Thunder picked Devon Hall with the 53rd pick in the draft. They also were able to trade for a “thermonuclear” athlete in Hamidou Diallo, who was picked 45th.

The 57th pick, though, of Kevin Hervey could wind up being the steal of the draft. Hervey has the ability to lead a team and score at a high rate. To get a player like that at No. 57 in a draft where only 60 players are picked has to make the Thunder faithful optimistic.

Hervey may not be able to play in the NBA as soon as possible because he is a late second round pick. The Thunder also like sending their second round picks to the G League anyway.

As the Sun Belt Player of the Year his junior year in college, Hervey showed the ability to compete in the professional ranks too, as he had a good competitive portion of the NBA Draft Combine.

Here is why Hervey will be a good pick for the Thunder.
