Highlights

As you would expect, many of Williams’ highlights involve him putting the ball through the nylon. In particular, he had four games where he scored at least 40 and one where he dropped 50 — all in winning efforts.

In the Clippers’ Jan. 26 win over the tanking Memphis Grizzlies, Williams turned his best performance of the season if you go by game score, finishing with 40 points, 10 assists and a +19 rating.

Throughout the game, Williams used his craftiness to get to the basket, but he also hit some shots coming off of screens. His passing was the most impressive part of this performance; he took advantage of the defense gravitating toward him to create opportunities for his teammates.

Lou Will’s 42-point game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Nov. 27 was more of a quintessential Williams performance. With only four assists, Williams was his usual shoot-first self against the Clippers’ in-city rival, and why not? He shot an efficient 12-for-21 from the field and went 4-for-8 from 3-point range.

His most memorable performance came in a blowout win over the Golden State Warriors on Jan. 10. With Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson both out for this game, Williams took the opportunity to torch what was left of the defending champions for 50 points on 16-for-27 shooting. He also dished out seven dimes, including a pinpoint transition alley-oop to Montrezl Harrell.
