Final grade

Overall, 2017-18 was another fantastic year for Stephen Curry.

He continued to show his greatness on the offensive end unencumbered by Durant’s presence, with both players becoming more and more comfortable next to each other.

He missed the beginning of Golden State’s playoff run, but came back strong, averaging 25.5 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.4 assists in 15 games.

More from Hoops Habit

An argument could be made that Steph should’ve won his first Finals MVP. KD’s numbers might have been better, but 27.5 points, 6.8 assists and 6.0 rebounds per game are nothing to scoff at, especially given his fantastic play in Games 2 and 4.

His individual defense wasn’t great, nor will it ever be, but with a guy as diminutive as Curry is, the only thing one can really ask is for him to try as best he can, and it’s safe to say that Steph did that more often than not, no matter his opponent.

The only reason that Curry doesn’t get a perfect grade isn’t just because of the time he missed due to injury, but due to the multiple injuries that kept him out of for chunks at a time instead of one giant injury that forces one to miss X amount of games.

It would be one thing for a freak ankle injury to knock Steph out for a couple of months, but that wasn’t the case. It was a sprained ankle here, a bum knee there, and that becomes frustrating for both Curry and the Warriors, having to constantly adjust from on the court to in a suit on the bench.

With that being said, it was another exemplary season for the most important player on an emerging dynasty.
