3. Trae Young is not afraid to share

Trae Young failed to have less than five assists in just one game last season with Oklahoma. He had at least seven assists in 25 games and double-digit assists in 11 different games.

This all came to a total of 279 assists for Young, which ranked fourth in all of college basketball and he was one of just four players with over 270 assists last season. Only 30 players have posted at least 270 assists in a season, with eight different occasions in just the last three seasons.

Trae Young took the top spot in assists per game, nearly a full assist per game more than the next closest guy. His assist percentage (how many assists he accounts for when he’s on the court) was a sky-high 48.6 percent, tops in college basketball; the next closest guy was at 43.7 percent. Young is just one of 12 different players (since 2009-10) in college basketball to have an assist percentage above 45 percent.

With the talent of Kent Bazemore, John Collins and Taurean Prince on the court, Dewayne Dedmon coming back and the addition of Kevin Heurter, Young should have plenty of opportunities to rack up assists each night.
