1. Proven background

Hear me out. I know Duke is not known for producing elite big men in the NBA, but we are still talking about Duke, led by the legendary head coach Mike Krzyzewski. Bagley has made it clear that Coach K is largely responsible for his development.

The Kings’ are in position to reap the benefits of Bagley’s strong foundation. Particularly when it comes to leadership skills, Bagley seems ready to apply what he learned under the leadership of Krzyzewski.

This is especially important for the Kings, who need a strong leader on a young team.

Krzyzewski has been impressed with Bagley since he first saw him as an eighth-grader. Apparently, Bagley went on to attend Duke and turned out to be the player Krzyzewski expected. Now, the Kings will see if Bagley can live up to their expectations too.

With a player who seems to already have a strong relationship with the players and fans, who has the right attitude and who has potential for the best nicknames, it’s hard to go wrong.

It’s time for Kings fans to accept the fact that Doncic is long gone. It’s time to embrace Bagley. The rookie will have a lot of work to do, but he certainly seems like the type of guy who is willing to do so.
