Sacramento Kings: 5 reasons Marvin Bagley III was a good pick
3. He actually likes Sacramento
Almost every draft pick raves about the city they’re going to. Many of them do it because they have to. Bagley, however, seems sincere when he’s glowing about Sacramento.
When the Kings were still considering selecting Michael Porter Jr. with the No. 2 pick, some fans questioned whether Porter wants to be in Sacramento. Even Doncic seemed to lean towards the glamor of a bigger city.
With Bagley, fans don’t have to worry about that. He made it clear from the beginning that he wants to be in Sacramento. Giles and Fox will surely take him around town and make him fall in love with the city even more.
We’ve seen how attached DeMarcus Cousins became to the city in his seven years there. Bagley will have a chance to feel the same type of affection in Sacramento.
After all the disappointment of missing out on Doncic, fans still gave Bagley a warm Sacramento greeting as he arrived in town a day after the draft. Even large billboards have already been made for him around town. It seems like Bagley is feeling right at home.
