Sacramento Kings: 5 reasons Marvin Bagley III was a good pick

Sacramento Kings fans are disappointed after missing out on Luka Doncic in the 2018 NBA Draft, but there is reason to believe in Marvin Bagley III.

It wasn’t the sexy pick Sacramento Kings’ fans wanted. It wasn’t the dazzling Slovenian sensation who Kings fans have been drooling for.

That guy, who was so desperately coveted by Kings fans, went to the Dallas Mavericks after a trade with the Atlanta Hawks. While Mavs fans will now chant Luka Doncic’s name, Kings fans are trying to persuade themselves into seeing the potential of their No. 2 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, Marvin Bagley III.

That seems difficult to do at first. After all, Bagley has been considered average on defense. Nor is he the flashy playmaker Kings’ fans wanted when they begged for Doncic.

Plus, the Kings’ track record hasn’t been great when it comes to big men. As it is, the roster has plenty of long-term projects in the frontcourt.
