5. Ice in his veins

Under the light of the playoffs, some players struggle to play to the highest level. In last season’s playoffs, the Bucks watched this firsthand as Eric Bledsoe, playing in the postseason for the first time as an established starter, wilted under the pressure and was worked by Boston’s guards.

There is never a way to tell for sure what will happen when a player is put in the postseason crucible, but a few players can show in college or international play that when the games matter most, they are ready to make their mark. Donte DiVincenzo is one such player, a guard with ice in his veins.

DiVincenzo lives for the big moments, the bright lights, the most closely watched stage. A consistent bench scorer for Villanova all season, he erupted in the NCAA title game to the tune of 31 points, raining 3-pointers on the heads of Michigan defenders. When they took away the arc, he was knifing to the basket. In college basketball’s biggest game, DiVincenzo was the nation’s biggest star.

Any team would want a player they know they can rely on. Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer now has one more player he can lean on for a playoff rotation. DiVincenzo — the Michael Jordan of Delaware — is ready for primetime.
