2. KD does it again in Game 3 of the Finals

For all the criticism that Kevin Durant has gotten for joining the Warriors, he hasn’t simply hopped along for the ride. He’s co-operating the train.

His numbers are in the same ballpark, he’s won two Finals MVPs and there have been times where his greatness was needed due to his teammate’s struggles.

That last part was no more apparent than in Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

After setting the record for most 3-pointers in a game a few nights earlier, Stephen Curry struggled in Game 3, scoring just 11 points on 3-of-16 shooting, still managing to be his team’s second-leading scorer. Klay Thompson wasn’t much better, scoring 10 points on 4-of-11 shooting.

Even so, the Warriors still won, largely due to Kevin Durant, who finished with 43 points to go along with 13 rebounds and seven assists, including a dagger from nearly the exact same spot as his go-ahead shot from Game 3 of the 2017 NBA Finals.

This was arguably the best game of Durant’s career, one in which he virtually single-handedly ended any hope the Cavaliers had of getting back into the series.

The angles with which he takes and makes some of these shots is ridiculous, unfurling his lanky arms and getting buckets from every spot on the court.

Every great NBA player has a list of iconic games that stand the test of time. Michael Jordan had the Flu Game. LeBron James had Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals.

In what unofficially sealed the series for the Warriors, Game 3 will always be remembered for KD’s historic performance. His legacy may be tarnished some for the decision he made back in 2016, but after this performance, even the loudest of haters had to keep their mouths shut.
