2. Scoring potential

Musa’s main attribute as a prospect is his scoring. He can put the ball in the basket a myriad of ways, and efficiently too. He does go cold sometimes, but his aforementioned intelligence helps him navigate those stretches.

For the most part, Musa’s main job with Cedevita was to do exactly that: score. Not often does a team of that caliber have such a talented young scorer, so it made sense for them to employ him this way without overexposing him.

Musa averaged 12.4 points in 23.1 minutes per game, which translates to 19.3 points per 36 minutes. Statistical extrapolation should be done with deeper number-crunching though, as Musa is not guaranteed a featured role in the NBA.

He shot 47.0 percent from the field, which is palatable, though his 3-point percentage at 31.3 needs to improve. Fortunately, free throw shooting is closely tied to 3-point efficiency in the NBA, and Musa did that well at 80.4 percent. His efficiency as a shooter, especially around professional shooters, should get a major uptick in Brooklyn.

Everyone knows that shooting is closely tied to scoring, especially for a wing. So if Musa can improve as a shooter, the rest of his game will open up considerably.
