5. Magic can now pursue a quality floor general

The Magic may not have drafted a point guard after all, but if anything, the selection of Bamba means they can go after a more established one this offseason.

There’s never been a better time to do this either, what with the saturation of talented guards in the NBA today. Taking a more experienced player in this position is also wise for another reason.

With a frontcourt consisting of Bamba, Isaac and presumably restricted free agent Aaron Gordon, having experience at the guard position to move them around the court could prove crucial for their development.

There may be a lot to like about the team for the first time in what feels like forever, but make no mistake, there will be growing pains as well, especially offensively.

One such player who could be available and would help here is All-Star Kemba Walker. The Charlotte Hornets team he plies his trade with now looks like it’s at a crossroads as a franchise.

Should they go into rebuild mode, the Magic could have some pieces or picks that may interest them. On top of that, Walker’s former head coach Steve Clifford is now in charge in Orlando.

The selection of Bamba means the team can go after an established guard and take their rebuild to the next level while still having D.J. Augustin coming off the bench.
