A requisite for any NBA player that steps foot onto an NBA court is the ability to shoot the ball from the 3-point line, spacing the floor and providing room for teammates to drive to the bucket.
In his lone season at Kentucky, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander shot 40.4 percent from distance, but attempted only 57 of those shots.
Shooting is one of those skills that can be acquired through repetition. SGA may not shoot the ball very well early on, but once he gets acquainted with the NBA 3-point line, he’ll be able to establish himself as a respectable shooter.
Watching him shoot the basketball, his form looks nice, which gives him a great foundation to work with.
It all comes down to whether or not Gilgeous-Alexander is willing to put in the work. If he is, there’s no reason he shouldn’t be able to maintain that 3-point percentage while increasing the volume as well.
