Cleveland Cavaliers: 5 reasons Collin Sexton was a good pick
By Amaar Burton
1. Sexton can be an attractive trade asset
Another scenario is that Sexton never plays a game with LeBron or Love, and the Cavs instead use him to trade for a veteran star that can help the team compete for a championship right away.
While LeBron is seemingly ageless, he is 33 years old and has to start declining at some point. As good as Sexton is, he is only 19 and he’s going to be a rookie.
If LeBron decides to stay in Cleveland, the franchise will remain in win-now mode, which doesn’t bode well for a teenage phenom. Just like the Cavs traded Andrew Wiggins soon after drafting him No. 1 overall in 2014 in a deal to bring in the veteran Love, they could use Sexton as part of a package to land someone more established and experienced.

The reality for Sexton is that even though he hasn’t even signed a contract with the Cavaliers yet, how and where he begins his NBA career depends on what LeBron decides to do.
