Utah Jazz: 2018 NBA Draft grades

We give a reactionary grade to Grayson Allen, the Utah Jazz’s selection at pick No. 21 and their decision to deal No. 52 in the 2018 NBA Draft.
The 2018 NBA Draft may be over, but there will be plenty to discuss in the coming weeks. Free agency is now less than two weeks away, and like every other NBA team, the Utah Jazz don’t get a break. The saying “basketball never stops” is certainly applicable to the NBA offseason.
The excitement of the draft has passed, but now gears must be shifted towards who the Jazz will retain, who they will target if/when players like Dante Exum and Derrick Favors depart, and everything in between. For now, the Jazz have officially made their selections with their two picks in this year’s draft.
At pick No. 21, the Jazz selected
16th year
senior guard Grayson Allen, opting to keep the pick instead of trading down with a projected lottery talent like Robert Williams still on the board. Rumored Jazz targets like Donte DiVicenzo and Kevin Huerter were also taken a few picks before by the Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks, respectively.
With the No. 52 pick, the Jazz selected
everyone’s favorite player, cash considerations
no one (more on that later).
