The Atlanta Hawks had a lot of picks in the 2018 NBA Draft and they made quite the impression. The Hawks had the third pick, but instead traded that pick to the Dallas Mavericks for the fifth overall pick and a protected first-rounder in 2019.
It’s not a terrible trade, but it would have been ideal for the Hawks to keep that pick and draft Luka Doncic instead.
We won’t see if that trade was worth until years down the line, but you have to wonder if this means the end of the Dennis Schroder experiment in Atlanta.
