2018 NBA Draft: 5 first round steals

2. Michael Porter Jr., Denver Nuggets (No. 14)
Michael Porter Jr.’s fall was sad to see on a personal and emotional level. He was visibly upset. His slide, though, seems to gesture that his back may be in really bad shape.
Still, there comes a point in time after the top 10 where the reward outweighs the risk. I was very surprised the Los Angeles Clippers didn’t use of one of their two lottery picks on him. After this slide, and given he can play, Porter surely is motivated more than ever to prove people wrong.
If he gets back on track, Porter is a walking mismatch at 6’10”. He’s best used as Paul George in OKC working off the ball. If he’s put in a position to dominate the ball, his efficiency will drop. With Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic‘s playmaking, this could be an amazing fit.
