Strenghts

There was two really noticeable strengths from Rozier during the season. Those were his ability to defend and not shying away from the big moment or larger role.

A lot of players that spend their careers on the bench don’t necessarily come out like Rozier did. When he was given the opportunity, he’s showed the world every reason why he deserves to be a starter at some point in the near future — whether that’s in Boston or somewhere else.

Rozier started every game in the playoffs and it showed up on court and on the stat sheet. In the playoffs, he averaged 16.5 points per game and also shot the ball 14.0 times per game, not to mention almost eight 3s per game. Did we ever think we were going to see that many 3’s from Rozier at some point in his career?

It’s not the fact that he averaged this many shots or scored this many baskets, it’s how much he helped the Celtics win in the playoffs.

This is just one of many examples of how big he truly was. As a starter in 16 games, Rozier averaged 15.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.6 blocks per game. He stepped up in every facet possible.

While his offense has never really been his strong suit, Rozier has made up for it in his defense. This season he averaged over one steal a game and had a defensive rating of 101.0. Plus if you think about it, him coming off the bench sort of puts him in a predictament of being with less talented players.

Rozier showed us this year that he has the tools to be good in this league. If he picks up where he left off, then he will have a big next season too.
