The 2017-18 NBA season is over and that means we’re diving into another player review. Here’s a look at how the season went for Terry Rozier.
What a year it was for Terry Rozier and the Boston Celtics. He’s always been a fine young player, but it wasn’t until the playoffs or even extended minutes as a starter that he really turned it on and scared the world – hence the nickname “Scary Terry.”
There’s no doubt that his stock is higher than it ever has been. He did fade in the conference finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers, but what a first two series it was for him. Rozier is still just 24 years old and is on his way to possible stardom if he picks up where he left off.
Expectations are a lot higher now and they should be because we know what he’s capable of. His rapid surge raised questions as to whether they could save money and not spend so much on Kyrie Irving come next summer.
During the regular season he averaged 11.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.0 steals per game. He also shot 39.5 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from 3 on 5.0 attempts per game.
In the playoffs, we of course know how he played. He averaged 16.5 points, 5.7 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game, shooting 40.6 percent from the field and 34.7 percent from 3 on 7.7 attempts per game.
After the best season of his career, Rozier is showing us why his expectations are going to be high from here on out. Here’s a look at how the 2017-18 season went for the point guard out of Louisville.
