Luka Doncic is one of the most decorated 19-year-olds in the history of European basketball. What’s his draft outlook?

Luka Doncic is coming off an impressive run in Europe. The 6’8″ 19-year-old led Real Madrid to a EuroLeague Championship while winning the EuroLeague MVP and the EuroLeague Final Four MVP. He also helped lead the Slovenian national team to its first title at EuroBasket 2017.

Can you name any other 19-year-old who’s done more?

In the 2017-18 season, Doncic averaged 14.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game. He only played 25.0 minutes per game, however. If you look at his averages per 36 minutes, his statistics are way more impressive: 20.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6.6 assists.

The most impressive part about his European run is the competition he’s playing against. Doncic isn’t putting up these numbers against 18-year-old kids playing for a mid-major collegiate program; he’s doing all his work against grown men in the best basketball league in the world not called the NBA.

With the 2018 NBA Draft coming up, let’s take a look at Luka Doncic’s strengths, weaknesses, and overall outlook as an NBA prospect.
