The Denver Nuggets have a weird NBA Draft history, to say the least, filled with hits, misses and youngsters brimming with star potential.

Originally members of the ABA from 1967-76, the Denver Nuggets‘ first season in the NBA came in 1976-77, where they made it to the conference semifinals but would fall to the Portland Trail Blazers in six games.

Since that time, it’s been very touch-and-go for the Nuggets franchise, advancing to the conference finals on just three occasions, while being one of the 12 franchises to have never appeared in a single NBA Finals.

When it comes to the draft, Denver has been just as inconsistent, ending up with some great players and a couple of future Hall-of-Famers, but at the same time striking out on high picks multiple times.

Right now the Nuggets are in the middle of a pretty impressive rebuild, with young talent looking to assert itself in the league and possibly lead this squad where it’s never gone before. In the interest of examining this team’s history, here are the Nuggets’ top 10 draft picks of all time.
