A 44-win season followed by a first round playoff exit is simply not in the playbook of Heat president Pat Riley.

At his season-ending exit interview following the Heat’s 4-1 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, Riley made it clear he’ll intend to be active this offseason:

"“Show me the right name. I could be all in on everything.”"

However, considering the makeup of the Heat roster, Riley has his work cut out from him.

Following a horrendous postseason, center Hassan Whiteside‘s trade value has never been lower, and still has two years and $52.5 million. Guard Tyler Johnson, due to the “poison pill” nature of his contract, is owed $38.5 over the next two years. Furthermore, James Johnson and Dion Waiters still have three years left on their lucrative deals.

On the other hand, the Heat do possess some attractive trade pieces that could be utilized. Bam Adebayo, last year’s No. 13 overall pick, impressed mightily as a rookie, and at just 20 years old has enormous upside in the years to come. Furthermore, Josh Richardson and Justise Winslow just completed their third year in the league, with each showing significant strides on both ends of the floor.

Then there’s Goran Dragic, the Heat floor leader who was selected as an All-Star for the first time in his career. Although 32, Dragic remains one of the more dynamic point guards in the league, and has a team-friendly $37.3 million owed to him over the final two years of his deal.
